Night Vision
The Model 552 HOLOgraphic Diffraction Sight (HDS) is fully compatible with Generation I - III+ night vision intensifier tubes. A special night vision setting on the 552 allows the operator to immediately drop the brightness intensity of the holographic reticle to eliminate any "halo" affect and saturation of the night vision device. These can be positioned behind night vision systems without any "bloom" of the target area. Now operators can combine proven night vision system with a superior Close Quarters Battle (CQB) sight to achieve greatly enhanced weapon aiming while in the night vision spectrum.

'AA' Battery Option
The Model 512 & 552 are available with the universally available AA battery source. The AA option also allows interchangeability with one common battery source across all standard battery powered gear. Operators can stock, maintain, and deploy with one common battery for CQB optic, night vision systems, GPS, flashlights, radio equipment, etc.

The AA version extends the battery life to over 500 hours at the nominal daylight setting and allows operation in extreme artic temperatures. The 512 & 552 accommodates all versions of AA batteries including lithium, alkaline, and rechargeable types.

The 512 and 552 are the most popular LE series made.
The 512 has no night vision switch where the 552 does.
The night vision switch dims the reticle to a level that only those with night vision can see.
